The pilot training journey is a long one and there is not a single path to get to the dream job.
"The training demands
high levels
of self-discipline and determination, across a variety of physiological and practical skill-sets."
(Pilot Careers Live London)
The exhibtion took place in London on 7 November 2015 at Sofitel Hotel T5. Variety of training providers were presenting their offers to potential future pilots and were convincing them why they offer the best possible solution to their needs. The doors opened at 10:00 and closed at 16:30. It was very busy right from the beginning of the event to its very end.

Sigificant amount of information and advice was readily available and it was great to see people asking lots questions and looking at different training options that best suits them. Throughout the day a number of informative seminars were hosted where leading figures spoke on subjects central to becoming an airline pilot. The seminars were divided in two groups:
  • Airline Seminars - There were 4 of them, feauturing EasyJet, BA City Flyer, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways. The presentations indluded information about each comapny and were based on the life as a pilot and how each airline recruit its pilots.

  • Skills Seminars - Again, 4 seminars presenting points of view on topics like "Should I get an aviation degree", "A career as a Helicopter pilot", "Financing your pilot training" and "Aviation Skills Partnership".

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots, provided a quick aptitude test for everyone who wanted to test their skills. They offer a number of scholarships and bursaries, which you might find yourself eligible for and assist in your training, no matter if you are looking for a Private Pilot Licence or Jet Orientation Course.
